In yesterday’s Sandwich Filler we were entertained and educated by our own Astronomer, Ray Emery, with a talk about the Victorian Astronomers and their attempts to introduce an unsuspecting public to the stars and beyond. Their elaborate signage and the music hall like performances. The magic lantern and some of the very clever mechanical slides developed to illustrate astrological events.
A good turn out for a lunch time. Hot drinks and cakes provided and enjoyed by all.
