Christmas celebration in Sutterby church

Many thanks to Father Peter Coates for braving the weather to lead our Christmas celebration in Sutterby church yesterday. It was a VERY cold, frosty and foggy afternoon, the little church has NO heating or electric, But with aid of WFI and Father Peter’s phone and smart speaker we had organ music.

It was a busy Saturday in Spilsby with a Christmas Market, Cracker Day and the Singing for Fun Choir performing. So, our congregation was reduced in number, but we still managed 20 or so souls.

The long pauses between verses in the organ music caught a few people out but we had some fine carol singing, readings by Julia Brocklehurst, Dave Start and Denise Wheatley, and lovely song by Kate Witney.

On completion we went to Langton Village Hall to warm up with hot drinks and mulled wine followed by mince pies etc. (I hope to complete a video of the Celebration and make it available to those missed it very soon)
