We are considering running a coach trip to Longthorpe Tower and Crowland Abbey on Tuesday, July 2nd.
Longthorpe Tower is near Peterborough. The first floor room of the tower is decorated with one of the most complete and interesting examples of mediaeval domestic wall painting in northern Europe. This would be a private visit including a guided tour.
We would then move on to Crowland Abbey, where Abbey guides will introduce us to St Guthlac. St Guthlac will be followed by our very own Dave Start, who will entertain and educate us re the architectural marvel, which is the abbey itself.
Please let me know if you would be interested. The estimated cost is between £20 -£25 which includes the coach, the guided tours of Longthorpe and Crowland and afternoon tea at the Abbey.
We would leave Spilsby at 9am and aim to return by late afternoon.
