Palaeography 2 The Return of Paul Dryburgh - Friday October 3rd 10am – 3.30pm Franklin Hall, Spilsby

A Workshop for all those interested in delving into Sutterby’s old records and documents, of which there are a lot!

This is an opportunity to learn from Dr Paul Dryburgh of the National Archives. We know from his last visit that he is a patient and inspiring teacher and we are so pleased that he has agreed to return to Spilsby.

The Workshop will be in 2 parts.

In the morning Paul will give a practical introduction to the pleasures of deciphering old documents and handwriting. No Latin…but recognising that some documents do look as if they are written in a foreign language. (This session is also open to those of us who have already had an introduction, but may feel the need for a little refresher…)

In the afternoon, Paul will look at a selection of Sutterby and associated documents to encourage us to move forward with confidence into the Archives.

No previous knowledge required. If you would be interested in exploring a new subject and enjoy learning a new skill then please consider coming along.

As ever, we are pleased to be able to offer this Workshop free of charge through Heritage Lottery Funding via our parent project 'Down Your Wold’

Booking is required, so please let me know if you would like to attend.
